Adventures in Caring has been pioneering the human side of health care for 30 years. They teach the art of compassion to our future healthcare workers. In addition, they understand that burnout and compassion fatigue are occupational hazards of healthcare and emergency responders. In response to their need, Adventures in Caring created a course and DVD called Oxygen for Caregivers–to help them to care for themselves.

Rona Barrett’s Dream of Building an Affordable Living Village for Seniors is Coming True
Rona Barrett was an extremely successful and determined entertainment reporter and interviewed the who’s who of Hollywood for over 30 years. These days, she uses that tenacity to help seniors. While it has not been easy, Rona’s dream of providing affordable senior living is becoming a reality.
Last April, the Golden Inn and Village broke ground and it will be the first senior housing project in Santa Barbara County and California to provide affordable, aging-in place senior care. It will have independent living, assisted living, memory care and an adult day program. There will also be 27 one, two and three bedroom apartments for employees and their families. In the center, there will be a very large community center. The first people will be moving in around August or September of 2016. When it’s finished, there will be approximately 200 people living there. Rona describes it as a village within a village. It’s close to markets, churches and schools.
