About Frank Newton
Frank has been working with the Santa Barbara senior community for the past 12 years. In 2000 he created a senior-oriented community newspaper titled “The Silver Wave,” which addressed a wide range of community topics for older adults. For the past 7 years, Frank has written the Frank Talk for Seniors column in the Santa Barbara News-Press. For the past year, he has edited the community paper “Successful Aging.” And most recently, Frank was hired as executive director of the local nonprofit organization Senior Programs of Santa Barbara, which manages the RSVP senior volunteer program. He has also been honored by the Area Agency on Aging four times with the “Senior Media Advocate of the Year” award.
