Music can be the Best Medicine
by santabarbaraseniorsMusical duo, Trudy Bixby and Oscar Maynez, have been bringing ‘musical medicine’ to seniors in the Santa Barbara area for the past 13 years. Their main focus has been entertaining residents of various residential homes, hospice, elderly care facilities, etc., using their music as a healing modality. They also visit seniors in their homes.

Lynn Cederquist, Volunteer Extraordinaire
by santabarbaraseniorsLynn Cederquist talked about The Rotary Clubs of Goleta’s annual July 4th Fireworks Festival. Proceeds go toward scholarships for local students, other community organizations, and next year’s fireworks festival. The Rotary Club also sponsored a trip where Lynn helped to administer the polio vaccine to babies in India. She also talked about how meaningful it was to her to be a Court Appointed Special Advocate.
